DJ Cannon has devoted his life to understanding the inextricable link between humans, animals, and our world. He is currently a hospital leader for Mars Veterinary Health Group where he successfully manages multi-million dollar budgets, engages teams, develops passionate veterinary leaders and strives for the best quality medical care in each and every patient. In addition to his full time role- he consults with various organizations such as the Veterinary Information Network, One Health CDC, and National Institutes of Health. He is the Vice President elect for the Virginia Association of Licensed Veterinary Technicians and the state representative for the State Animal Emergency Response Team. He speaks at various conferences on a wide variety of topics and loves to be involved wherever possible. He graduated from Blue Ridge Community College’s LVT program in 2008 and continued his education to complete his MPH- Epidemiology (Communicable Disease) at George Mason University in 2017. As an epidemiologist his research interests are occupational psychology, infectious disease, and animal health. He lacks the ability to sit in one place and brings to us a wide variety of experiences in academia, small animal practice, zoo medicine, organizational transformation, and lean six sigma operational excellence. In his free time, Dj loves to travel on spontaneous adventures with his Australian Shepherd- Dahlia.
